A powerful ball-playing central defender who has been capped by Tunisia at senior level, Omar started last season on loan with Eredivisie outfit Sparta Rotterdam. He then joined Championship side Wigan Athletic in January, and made 11 league outings for the Latics. He made his Tunisia debut in June 2021 and featured at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations. His brother Karim is a full Netherlands international, and they were together at Feyenoord, Manchester City, PSV Eindhoven, Marseille and Hertha Berlin.
