There's some good news for Theo Walcott at a difficult time... he has been voted the Arsenal Player of the Month for December.
The England international returned to the side after injury and made an instant impact during a hectic month for the Gunners, as they entered 2014 at the summit of the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Champions League.
The 24-year-old received 42.3 per cent of the vote, with centre back Per Mertesacker in second place on 25.8 per cent. Tomas Rosicky finished in third with five per cent.
Following his recovery from an adductor problem, Walcott initially appeared off the bench and claimed an assist for Mesut Ozil's goal against Everton.
But in his first start back, he scored twice in the 6-3 defeat to Manchester City, then claimed another brace in the Boxing Day victory against West Ham.
In the final game of the year, Walcott laid on an inviting free kick for Olivier Giroud to score the only goal of the game against Newcastle.
Unfortunately, Theo's season has been ended after he sustained a knee injury against Tottenham, but Arsenal fans, players and former Gunners have united to show their support.
Get well soon Theo!
