Arsenal finished with 69 points this season – our highest points tally since 2018/19 – and will be back in European football next year after finishing fifth.
There’s still a sense of disappointment of course – having seen Champions League qualification slip through our fingers in the past week or so – but Rob Holding is adamant that significant progress is being made.
“Yeah I think the progress this year especially has been massive,” said the defender, who has just completed his sixth season with us.
“We’ve really stepped up and the team is building. The connection with the fans has been amazing this year, with them being back in the stands from the two years of Covid.
“So yeah I think we are heading in the right direction, and it’s a building block.”
