Having experienced her first pre-season under Joe Montemurro this summer, Leah Williamson is desperate to test herself against Juventus on Sunday.
The Italian giants will make the trip to Meadow Park this weekend, and it’s an opportunity that the England international will relish, as preparations for the new season begin to step up.
“We maybe lack that European experience and exposure because we’re not in the Champions League,” Williamson told Arsenal Player.
“It’s a different way to test ourselves and obviously it will be fitness focused because it’s pre-season, but we really want to start showcasing the football that we’re going to be playing this year.
“Joe brought that in at the back end of last season and we had a really good run, so I think the fans have something to be excited about. There’s a real football focus in training so we want to showcase what we’re all about, but ultimately it’s just the next step on the ladder of getting ready for the new season.”
Kick off is at 2pm (UK Time) at Meadow Park on Sunday. A limited number of tickets will be available on the gate on the day.
