The return of the cannon

50 years on from our momentous 1970/71 league and FA Cup double, we’re proud to present a new away kit inspired by the strip worn by our heroes.

The yellow shirt with a blue trim features the return of the icon that unites us all – the famous Arsenal cannon – in place of our club crest.

The new kit for the 2021/22 season will be worn for the first time by Arsenal Women in their Vitality Women's FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace on Sunday, May 16. The men’s team will also wear the new kit in their final away fixture of the season – also against Crystal Palace – on Wednesday, May 19.

Every Arsenal shirt for the 2021/22 season features Arsenal for Everyone on the inside neck as a celebration of the diversity of the Arsenal family. As part of the launch of our new kit, our supporters and players will share their personal stories of belonging to the club in a series of films that will be released throughout the week.

Our special edition 1970/71 matchday programme from last Sunday’s match against West Bromwich Albion is also still available for supporters to download for free or to purchase a copy. The collectible programme features iconic archive photography, an exclusive interview with double winner Pat Rice, action spreads from White Hart Lane and Wembley, ‘I was there’ fan accounts and much more.

We are also pleased to confirm that Visit Rwanda will continue to feature on our men’s, women’s and academy kits. As our official sleeve sponsor and tourism partner, we will continue to support Rwanda’s strategic investment to rebuild and grow the tourism industry following the coronavirus pandemic.

The new away kit will be registered as an option for the Arsenal goalkeepers to wear in matches in the forthcoming season, alongside the new home goalkeeper kit, which has also been released today.

The new kit is available to buy exclusively until May 20 at Arsenal Direct, our flagship Armoury store and official adidas stores.
