Mika Biereth has signed for Austrian Bundesliga side SK Sturm Graz in a permanent transfer.

The 21-year-old forward joined our academy in July 2021 from Fulham signing a professional contract on arrival.

Mika had a successful 2023/24 season, starting the campaign in Scotland with Motherwell and finishing with his new club, SK Sturm Graz. With 15 appearances domestically for Motherwell, Mika scored six goals and assisted five times.

A new challenge arose when the Denmark youth international signed a short-term loan deal with SK Sturm Graz in January 2024. Mika played a key role in what was a historic season for the Austrian side, with SK Sturm Graz winning a league and cup double for only the second time in their history. In 22 appearances across all competitions, Mika scored nine goals and created four assists.

A natural goal scorer, Mika scored 12 goals for our academy in 26 appearances, as well as five assists along the way. The young striker has also been in our first team matchday squad as an unused substitute in the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Sporting Director Edu said: β€œWe are so proud of the progress Mika has made since joining us. This new opportunity with Sturm Graz is great for Mika, and it’s a good example of what a strong loan development plan produces.

β€œMika will be playing Champions League football when the season starts again, which he deserves due to his mentality and performances in recent seasons.”

We thank Mika for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best in the next stage of his career with SK Sturm Graz.

The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
