Karl Hein signs new long-term contract

Young goalkeeper Karl Hein has signed a new long-term contract with us.

The 19-year-old, who made his non-competitive first-team debut in July in the pre-season match at Hibernian, was also a member of the first team matchday squad six times in the Europa League last season.

Hein is a full Estonia international and has now made 10 appearances for his country. He made his full international debut in September 2020 in a Nations League match against Georgia and most recently, was in fine form to keep a clean sheet against Wales earlier this month in the 0-0 World Cup qualifier draw in Cardiff.

The goalkeeper joined us on a scholarship contract from Estonian club Nomme United in July 2018, where he conceded just 12 goals in 20 appearances at under-17 level and also featured five times for the first team at the age of just 16. He signed professional terms with us in July 2019.

Everyone at the club congratulates Karl on his new contract and look forward to his continued development with us in the coming years.
