Internationals: Aubameyang scores late for Gabon

Two of our players have been in international action so far this week.

Scroll down to find out how they got on.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returned for Gabon in perfect fashion as he dispatched an 84th-minute penalty to help them edge past Burkina Faso.

After a goalless first half, the match looked destined to finish 0-0 but our marksman slotted home from the spot to hand Patrice Neveu’s side the victory.

Matteo Guendouzi played 77 minutes as France Under-21s swept past Azerbaijan.

Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard bagged a 36-minute brace before Dan-Axel Zagadou scored to give les Bleus a 3-0 lead at half-time. Houssem Aouar and Arnaud Nordin completed the 5-0 victory as Guendouzi was substituted for tactical reasons in the 77th-minute.

Elsewhere, Bernd Leno and Emi Martinez were unused substitutes as Germany and Argentina played out a 2-2 draw.

Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock could be in action for England Under-21s on Friday as they travel to face Slovenia at 5pm (UK time).
