Emery's updates on Kolasinac, Bellerin, Tierney

Emery

After watching his side secure an opening day 3-0 win in the Europa League, Unai Emery gave an update on the availability of Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney, as well as clarifying Sead Kolasinac’s injury.

Here’s what he said…

on a good night for the young players…

We have some new players and players who we need to work with for their adaptation in the next matches. Progressively, they're getting better. For example, Pepe played 30 minutes tonight and we are happy with him, we are helping him, but I know he's capable of doing more than he's doing. It's the same with Mustafi. He played his first match this season and Chambers played at right back, David Luiz has now played with Mustafi and Chambers, with more players. Rob Holding is getting closer to us now. Tomorrow, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney will play with the under-23s. I think every player can be important for us and I want to create a big spirit from games where we worked like we did tonight. Sometimes we are going to have one plan and we'll need to change that to use different players in each match. Tonight, we prepared for the match and they imposed themselves on us. They're an offensive team and they pressured us, so we needed to be strong defensively, strong in the pressing, strong in the transition and maybe it's going to be a different match against Aston Villa. We are going to prepare for that with our personality and by using the best players to improve our ideas. I am sure it's going to be a different match, and also Aston Villa is going to ask a lot of us defensively and offensively. But I think we have these defensive and offensive options to use in each moment.

on Sead Kolasinac...

He played on Sunday, tonight and he felt a small problem but I think he's fine.
