International Career 120 caps and 5 goals for Australia

Experienced Australian Steph had another productive season, both in her natural role at left back and when called upon to play in central defence. Tough in the tackle and difficult to beat on the ground or in the air, she is also a threat going forward, particularly in tandem with international team-mate Caitlin Foord and with her accurate set-piece delivery.

Although not renowned for her goalscoring exploits, she also chipped in with an important opening goal in the 2-1 home win over Manchester City in the WSL in November 2023. Last season was Steph’s fourth as a Gunner, having arrived in the summer of 2020 with a reputation as one of the best left-backs in the world. A title winner in her home country with both Melbourne Victory and – alongside future Arsenal team-mates Kim Little and Jennifer Beattie – Melbourne City, she was named in the W-League Team of the Season four times and also enjoyed three stints in the NWSL in the United States.

An Australian international since 2012, Steph has more than 100 caps and was a key player in her country’s run to the semi-finals on home soil in the 2023 World Cup, scoring two goals.
