Islington has been our home since 1913 – it’s where we belong. We love north London and we want to work with our community to make it even better.
On October 31, our Director of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), Hannah Mansour, was a speaker at the Business Green Net Zero Festival, held in Islington at the Business Design Centre. The festival brought together more than 50 exhibitors, more than 100 speakers and up to 3,000 delegates to explore how to accelerate the net zero transition and deliver on its huge potential.
Hannah was invited to join a panel by Islington Council to discuss the vital role of partnerships and collaboration to deliver net zero ambitions. This gave her the opportunity to talk about how Arsenal is working towards reducing our emissions and, in particular, how the local community can work together for a collective positive environmental impact.
Joining Hannah (who is second from right, above) on stage were Nikki Gaddo from Goodmine, a company focusing on reducing waste and the circular economy, and Sue Collins from Caxton House, a long-established community hub that, amongst many other activities, helps local neighbourhoods towards decarbonising.
In an interactive session chaired by Councillor Rowena Champion, the panel were able to discuss the benefits of collaboration as we strive towards reducing our environmental impact. Bringing local businesses, residents, and council members together to share expertise and create solutions that benefit all is how we create a just transition to net zero.
