Martinelli makes 100th Premier League appearance

Martinelli after scoring against Man City

Gabriel Martinelli made his 100th Premier League appearance in our 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Gabi made his league debut against Fulham on September 12, 2020, and from then until his 100th league appearance, only Bukayo Saka (113) played more times for us in the competition.

Martinelli became the 65th Gunner to reach 100 Premier League games and only the third Brazilian, after Invincible Gilberto Silva and teammate Gabriel Magalhaes.

His first century was comprised of 74 starts and 26 substitute appearances, totalling 6,396 minutes in his 100 games, of which we won 57, drew 21 and lost 22.

In that time, Gabi scored 27 goals in the Premier League - possibly none better than his strike against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 2020 - and added 14 assists.

There was another cause for celebration post-match as Kai Havertz also completed a century of games in the league, after coming off the bench. 91 of those came in his time at Chelsea, while nine were for us after his switch from west to north London.
