Arsenal's first game was against the hosts Stabaek on Friday evening and Jennifer Beattie's glancing header gave the Gunners the lead in the 12th minute.
The Norwegian League leaders fought back and levelled in the 32nd minute through Skaug and despite an end to end second half, the match had to be decided on penalties. Arsenal won through to the final, 4-2 on spot-kicks.
