One of the most heart-warming sights last season was the return of Dutch midfielder Victoria, who missed 308 days of club action after suffering an ACL injury while on international duty in June 2024. Having scored on her comeback in February 2025 for Arsenal’s title-winning Under-21s in a crucial win over Manchester United, she made her first senior appearance off the bench in the 4-0 win over Liverpool the following month, and then scored in the 5-1 win over Leicester City in April. The injury was a cruel blow at the end of a 2023/24 season in which she was one of our star performers, racking up a joint-high 32 appearances.
Blessed with great technique and vision, she is also robust in the tackle and versatile enough to play in a variety of midfield roles or, as she does regularly for the Netherlands, at right back. Victoria joined Arsenal from Dutch champions elect Ajax in January 2023 and made an instant impression, featuring 21 times in all competitions during the remainder of the season.
A Dutch international since 2018, she featured at the 2020 Olympics, 2023 World Cup and two European Championships, including the 2025 edition in Switzerland.
