Team news: Tierney and Elneny start against Fulham

Kieran Tierney

On his 100th Premier League game as a manager, Mikel Arteta has been forced into making his first line-up changes of the campaign, with Kieran Tierney and Mohamed Elneny replacing Oleksandr Zinchenko and Thomas Partey.

The Ukrainian suffered a slight sprain to his left knee in training on Friday and has been left out as a precaution, while Partey suffered a tight right thigh in the same session, and both players are continuing to be assessed.

Gabriel Jesus starts in attack, looking to improve on his record of being involved in five goals in his first three appearances for us, which is the most of any Gunners player in their first three games for the club in the Premier League. He’s also had four goals and four assists in his last four Premier League starts against newly-promoted opponents.

Meanwhile, both Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos could be in line for their debuts, having been named on the bench, as has Cedric Soares.

Fulham arrive in north London looking for their first-ever away win against us, and Marco Silva has made one change to the team that beat Brentford 3-2 last weekend, with Neeskens Kebano replacing Jay Stansfield.

Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney, Elneny, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Jesus. Subs: Turner, Soares, Tomiyasu, Holding, Sambi, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Marquinhos, Nketiah.

Fulham: Leno, Tete, Adarabioyo, Ream, Robinson, Reed, Palhinha, Kebano, Pereira, De Cordova-Reid, Mitrovic. Subs: Rodak, Duffy, Mbabu, Diop, Chalobah, Harris, Stansfield, Cairney, Francois.
