Dynamic left back Katie was a reliable and powerful presence at both ends of the pitch last season, missing just two league games and starting all 15 UEFA Champions League games, setting a record by playing 1,296 minutes in the competition. Composed and resolute in defence, the Republic of Ireland international was also a threat going forward, creating a league high 51 chances for her team-mates.
With Steph Catley featuring in central defence Katie made the full back berth her own, having featured in no less than four positions – on both flanks in defence and midfield – in 2023/24. A long-time fan favourite, she won both our Player and Goal of the Season awards in 2023/23 and has been a key presence in the side since her return from a league title-winning loan spell at Glasgow City in 2017, having originally joined the Gunners in December 2015.
A fiercely competitive leader on and off the pitch, Katie became the Republic of Ireland’s youngest ever captain at the age of just 21 and led her country at the 2023 World Cup, scoring their first ever goal at the finals, followed by promotion from Group B in the 2024 UEFA Women’s Nations League.
