WHAT HAPPENED

Jordan Nobbs scored her first goal of the season as we maintained our 100 per cent start to season.

Kim Little gave us the lead inside 10 minutes when she met Vivianne Miedema’s through ball and slotted past Megan Walsh.

We could have doubled our advantage twice in a matter of minutes when Leah Williamson’s header flew just wide of the target, before Leonie Maer went through on goal and sent her effort trickling wide.

But we didn’t have to wait much longer for our second when, after neat build-up play, Nobbs found Miedema with a clever first touch and our No 11 fired into the top corner.

Ten minutes after the restart our Dutch striker was involved again, this time rolling her marker to find Danielle van de Donk who grabbed our third from inside the box.

Nobbs then got in on the act when she struck home a sweet volley from the edge of the box through Megan Walsh’s legs at the end of a dominant performance by Joe Montemurro’s side.

WHAT IT MEANS

We leapfrog Manchester City into first in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League on goal difference.

WHAT’S NEXT

Montemurro’s side next face Chelsea away from home on Sunday, October 13 at 3pm (UK time).
