Mesut Ozil then capped the evening in exhilarating fashion, scoring a magnificent solo effort in the 88th minute to hand Arsene Wenger's side the win.
Tuesday night's victory means that Arsenal have now secured qualification from Group A of the Champions League with two games to spare.
