Katie Reid

The 2024/25 campaign was another memorable one for talented youngster Katie, who signed her first professional contract in October 2024 and made 13 appearances in all competitions, including five starts, as she continued to acclimatise to senior football. That followed a whirlwind 2023/24 season that started on loan at Watford – a spell in which she made ten appearances in the Championship and faced her parent club in the FA Cup – before she was recalled in February 2024 to provide defensive cover for the pregnant Amanda Ilestedt.

The athletic, technically gifted centre back featured on the bench ten times, and made her debut by replacing another Arsenal Academy graduate, Leah Williamson, in the 5-0 win over Bristol City in April 2024. Before that Katie was on the bench for many of Arsenal’s Champions League matches in 2022/23 as one of the club’s “home-grown” young players, including the 5-1 win at Lyon.

The defender also starred for the double-winning Academy team in 2022/23 and featured for last season’s title-winning Under-21s.

A standout performer for England at the UEFA Under-17 Euros in May 2023, Katie equalised with a towering header in the semi-final, only for two late goals to send Spain through to the final.
