'You change this situation through hard work'

Lucas Torreira is determined to turn our current form around.

The Uruguay international returned to the starting line-up in our 2-1 home defeat by Brighton on Thursday but remains fully committed to arresting our recent slump - and insists he will keep on giving his all.

"It's really important how the fans feel because they're the ones supporting us through the good times and the bad," Torreira said. "They're the ones that pay their money to buy a ticket and watch us play, they're the ones that suffer when it's going badly and celebrate when things are going well.

"Obviously for all of us and for me especially, I'm the kind of player who gives 100 per cent when I'm out there on the pitch to make the fans happy. I'm the kind of player who gives their all for the club, so that's the situation as I see it.

"I think it's about hard work and results. That's part of football, it's to be expected that the fans are not going to be happy when we haven't won a game in seven matches.

"Really, it's normal that these situations happen over the course of the season. I think you change that situation through hard work because we want to get our fans back behind us.

"We have an incredible support and it's really massive for the players to feel that support when we're out there on the pitch. For us, it's about working hard in training and matches to get them back."
