Saturday was another night to remember for Joe Willock.
The Hale End graduate became our first teenager to score in the Emirates FA Cup since January 2010 with two goals against Blackpool, but was denied a first professional hat-trick by the linesman.
Willock was asked about his goals and the offside decision after the match. This is what he had to say:
on enjoying the match...
Yes, it was a good night for me but not only for me, for the team. We dug deep and in the second half it was not as easy as the first half. We played well.
on whether he thought he had scored a hat-trick…
Yes, I thought I had a hat-trick but the linesman took it away from me. That's how football is sometimes!
on whether he is looking to impress the manager…
Yes, I'm preparing myself every day in training and competing with the best players in the world. It's the best thing I can do and I'm trying to make sure that I can get in the team.
