We had seven players in action for their countries on Monday evening. Scroll down to find out how they got on:
Joe Willock scored and Eddie Nketiah claimed an assist in England Under-20s’ 2-0 win over Germany in Colchester. Having both started the game, Willock made the difference just after the hour mark when he finished clinically at the near post, before Nketiah set up Lucas Nmecha three minutes later to seal the win.
Tyreece John-Jules was also on target as England Under-18s won the Spain tournament with a final-day victory over Belgium. Our young striker scored his fourth goal in just three games this international break after 18 minutes, before Faustino Anjorin and Arvin Appiah added gloss to the scoreline. Belgium pulled one back soon after, but the Young Lions - who also featured Vontae Daley-Campbell and Flo Balogun - ensured they finished 2018 in winning ways.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan captained Armenia to a 2-2 draw against Liechtenstein in the Uefa Nations League. Our playmaker completed the full 90 minutes as Aleksandr Karapetyan’s 85th-minute equaliser was enough to salvage a point after Marcel Buchel and Nicolas Hasler had cancelled out Sargis Adamyan’s opener. The result means that Armenia finish second to Macedonia in League D Group 4.
Matteo Guendouzi was a 61st-minute substitute in France Under-21s’ 1-1 draw with Spain in Caen. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the spot but after Guendouzi had replaced Ibrahima Sissoko, France found the vital equaliser through Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Bernd Leno was an unused substitute in Germany’s 2-2 draw against Netherlands in the Uefa Nations League. Timo Werner and Leroy Sane had given Die Mannschaft a half-time lead, but last-minute strikes by Quincy Promes and Virgil van Dijk ensured the Orange topped Group 1, condemning Germany to relegation from League A.
