Even though he is naturally a winger, Bukayo Saka still found himself in an unusual position on Wednesday evening.
Our Hale End graduate has featured primarily as a left back this season but, with Kieran Tierney returning at left back, was used further up the pitch.
So what are Mikel Arteta's plans for the youngster?
"I think with Bukayo it’s part of his development and he needs to be able to adapt at different positions, and he’s very willing to do that," our head coach said.
"He has qualities to play in two or three different positions and that’s a great thing to have in a player in our squad. Again, yesterday was another very tough game for him with the way things happened and when we went to 10 men.
"But again, it was a really good experience to see that level that you have to achieve to play at a football club that is constantly winning trophies and what is required and the mentalities that are required to be able to do that."
