Lydia Williams is widely regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in W-League history.
The Australia international is an exceptional shotstopper and commanding presence inside the area - but how will her distribution fare in Joe Montemurro’s system?
“I haven’t always grown up playing that way, but it’s definitely a side of my game that I’ve developed over a number of years,” Williams told Arsenal.com. “I’ve been playing that way for a long time now with the national team and at every club that I’ve been at.
“It’s been the philosophy [for a while now], so to really build on that with a team that believes on starting their attack from the back and playing out, it’s really exciting and makes me a multi-dimension goalkeeper, rather than just saving balls.
“It’s exciting to see how Arsenal’s stamped their way in the WSL, so now it’s about how I can help with that.”
