'We need to start with more strength'

Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored again on Monday, as we came from behind to draw against Manchester United.

It was the Gabon striker's seventh Premier League goal of the season but he was made to wait before celebrating, as VAR had to be called upon to correct an offside call.

Auba gave his thoughts on the game, his equaliser and VAR afterwards. This is what he said:

on the timing of United's goal...

It's hard to come here. It's not easy when you concede just before half-time but we came back in the second half with great spirit. Last week we came back as well, so maybe we need to start with more strength and more confidence because we can do it.

on his goal...

We took the ball and Bukayo gave me a great pass. I made sure I was not offside and I was surprised that the referee blew his whistle, but I just finished as usual. I'm just happy the goal was given in the end.

on whether he thought United's players had stopped...

Yeah, I just heard the crowd say the goal was offside. But then I still finished it and it counted, so I was happy.

on whether VAR takes away the joy of celebrating...

Yeah of course. It's a strange feeling. You cannot celebrate 100 per cent, but it's OK because I'm happy for the team.
