Pedro Martinez Losa was disappointed with the performance from his side in our 5-2 defeat away to Manchester City on Saturday.
Having started the season with a win against Birmingham City, we were beaten comfortably by City. Following the game, Losa spoke with Arsenal.com and here is what he had to say.
On the performance…
Well there are not too many positives to be fair, I think that obviously we didn’t start the game well. We then had the ability to come back into the game twice, but I don’t think we managed to manage the game in our best interests and in the key moments.
On the upcoming game against Bristol City…
I don’t think it’s a question of changing, it’s about how we can get better as a group. We need to be more competitive, obviously, if we’re conceding so many goals it doesn’t matter what things you change, we have to be solid defensively, work hard off the ball, make sure we work in that area and off that we can build better things.
On the spirit to fight back…
I think that is a point, I would like to see that spirit more from the beginning and make sure we can fight for the result once we are coming back from that situation, but obviously that was on of the few positives.
On Vivianne Miedema’s debut…
It was difficult for her because obviously she only trained with the team for one day, because we had been taking care of her from after the Euros, but I think Beth and Vivienne both had an impact in the game at some moments really positively and in the moment when as a team we weren’t so good.
