Voting is now open for our men's first-team Player of the Month for December!
While there were only two Premier League encounters to enjoy over the festive period due to the World Cup, they were still highly enjoyable matches with two wins claimed and seven goals netted as we ended 2022 on a high.
But who was our star performer from the month? Here are the four contenders:
Our Brazilian returned from the World Cup in blistering form, and netted a great effort against West Ham United on Boxing Day to put us in front for the first time in the game.
He then followed that up by playing a part in Eddie Nketiah’s goal at Brighton, before racing half the field to tuck home our fourth of the night and score for the second successive match.
When Gabriel Jesus’ boots needed filling after his knee injury in Qatar, Eddie stepped up emphatically by driving home the clinching goal against the Hammers after a brilliant turn.
His first league goal of the campaign was swiftly followed by his second, as he found himself in the perfect place to tap home the rebound at the Amex Stadium after Martinelli’s shot was saved.
Having netted a brace against Wolves before the international break, our skipper continued his impressive form by laying on two assists against the Hammers to help us turn the game around.
He then bagged his seventh goal of the campaign on the south coast, before playing an incredible pass to set Martinelli on his way for our fourth of the night, and his fifth assist of the season so far.
Having starred for England on the world stage, Bukayo wasted little time continuing to shine for us domestically, as he showed good composure to slot home the equaliser against West Ham.
He again found himself in the right place at the right time at Brighton, striking after just 66 seconds to hand us the perfect start to the game.
Which of these four deserves to be named December’s Player of the Month? Take a look at their best moments in the video above.
