THE STORY SO FAR
We return to Premier League International Cup action on Thursday and will be keen to continue our positive start to the tournament, having beaten last year’s winners Porto 1-0 in our opening game.
We come into the game off the back of an emphatic 3-0 win against West Ham in Premier League 2, with Vlad Dragomir scoring a brace and Eddie Nketiah grabbing the other.
THE OPPOSITION
Reading were beaten 2-0 by Porto in their first game, but still have a chance to make up for lost time.
In the league, Reading sit third in Division Two, trailing leaders Middlesbrough by four points.
In their previous fixture, they saw off Stoke 3-2 away from home, courtesy of strikes from Danny Loader and Josh Barrett, who bagged a brace.
ONE TO WATCH
Having returned from a long-term injury, Ben Sheaf has slotted well into Gatting’s side this season, and has caught the attention of Arsene Wenger.
The defender made his first-team debut against Red Star Belgrade and has been on the bench on three other occasions.
LAST TIME WE MET
We beat the Royals 5-2, with Yaya Sanogo bagging a 19-minute hat-trick as we came from 2-0 to run out winners at Hogwood Park.
The hosts moved into an early lead through goals from Andrija Novakovich and Jordan Holsgrove, before we struck back and swung the pendulum our way through Mathieu Debuchy, Sanogo and Cohen Bramall.
