U21s preview: MK Dons v Arsenal

mk arsenal

Our under-21s turn their attention to the Bristol Street Motors Trophy as they travel to face League Two side MK Dons in the second group-stage match. Kick-off at Stadium MK is scheduled for 7pm (UK time).

After back-to-back league defeats, the young Gunners will be determined to bounce back. Fortunately, we’ve already made a solid start in this competition, securing a 2-1 win against Leyton Orient in the opener, thanks to goals from Josh Robinson and Ismeal Kabia.

The Opposition

MK Dons are currently competing in the fourth tier after relegation from League One in the 2022/23 season. Last season, they finished fourth in the league and reached the play-off semi-finals, where they were eliminated by Crawley Town, who eventually earned promotion with a 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at Wembley.

This season, MK Dons have experienced a mixed run of form, sitting 13th in the table with three wins, three draws, and four losses from their first 10 matches. Over the weekend, they drew 1-1 with Tranmere Rovers. In the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Colchester United in their opening group match.
