WHAT HAPPENED
Our under-18s returned to winning ways on Saturday as they beat Reading 4-0 at London Colney.
Vontae Daley-Campbell opened the scoring just past the 20-minute mark when he met Dominic Thompson’s cross to volley home.
We added to our lead through Folarin Balogun after the interval when the striker raced on to Tyreece John-Jules' pass on the edge of the penalty area and lashed the ball past Gabriel Rosario.
John-Jules soon turned goalscorer, adding a third shortly after when he was played in on goal by Bukayo Saka and coolly fired the ball in.
To rub salt into Reading’s wounds, Balogun bagged his second of the game 14 minutes from time, when John-Jules’s shot ricocheted off him and looped over Rosario and into the net.
WHAT IT MEANS
Victory means that we have risen to fifth in the table and now lie just six points off league leaders Chelsea, who remain undefeated.
WHAT’S NEXT
Up next is an away trip to fourth-placed Brighton and Hove Albion, who were beaten 3-0 by Fulham in their previous fixture.
