Tom Smith signs first professional contract

Young goalkeeper Tom Smith has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 17-year-old played an important role in last season’s under-18s title-winning campaign by keeping five clean sheets in eight games.

Smith also wore the captain’s armband in a pivotal 3-0 home victory against Chelsea last season.

He spent the start of this season on loan at Salisbury in the Southern League Premier Division, but returned to the club early due to injury.

Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Tom on his new contract and we look forward to his continued development.

The contract is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
