Our partners STATSports are supporting a variety of Arsenal in the Community initiatives this season.
STATSports is very keen to support grassroots football and like AITC, uses the Arsenal men’s and women’s first team as inspiration for talented and aspiring players.
Watch the video above to see our Arsenal students at the Arsenal Hub try out the STATSports Arsenal Edition for the first time.
STATSports donated their GPS trackers to three Arsenal in the Community projects:
- Talented players from our community projects across local schools, parks and estates are invited to join the Arsenal in the Community ‘Football Plus’. The programme sees teams from Under-8s right through to Under-15s training and playing matches in local leagues. One of our Under-14 sides is using the STATSports Arsenal Edition trackers this season
- Our girls-only football session will also be using the STATSports Arsenal Edition trackers
- The STATSports Arsenal Edition trackers are being used as an educational tool for our current second-year students related to modules they have to take on anatomy and fitness.
Arsenal in the Community runs a Level 3 BTEC programme which is equivalent to three A Levels. Students are based with Arsenal in the Community full-time at The Arsenal Hub for three years
Some of the best-performing students were also invited by STATSports to play on the pitch at the end of last season, playing in front of Lead Talent ID Co-ordinator, Steve Brown, and coached by Under-18s head coach, Jack Wilshere.
STATSports Co-Founder Sean O’Connor commented “STATSports GPS trackers are used by both Arsenal first teams, and all academy players at Hale End, so we’re delighted we’ve been able to extend the benefits of our product into the Arsenal In the Community Programme.
"We have been really impressed by the work carried out by AITC, and giving the aspiring players within these programmes the chance to compare their physical performance directly with Gabriel Jesus, William Saliba and Bukayo Saka will hopefully inspire them to fulfil their footballing potential.”
