Jessica Samuelsson has joined us ahead of the new Women’s Super League season.
The experienced defender earned her first international cap for Sweden in 2011, and since then she has won a silver medal in the 2016 Olympic Games and impressed in both the 2013 and 2017 Women's Euros.
The 25-year-old right-back joins us from Swedish side Linkopings. She first joined Linkopings in 2010, but since then Jessica has made an impact on the other side of the world.
Following a loan move to Melbourne Victory for the 2013 winter season, she was named as the league's Player of the Year. The prestigious award recognised her impactful contribution to the club which saw them win the W-League trophy that year.
Speaking after signing her contract, Jessica said: "I'm so happy to join the club and to be a part of such a great club as Arsenal. I'm really excited for the season to start and to play my first game in the Arsenal shirt.
This is a new step in my career and I hope to make progress as a player. I'm going to do everything that I can to help Arsenal win titles."
