Ramsey on Ozil, Alexis and Lacazette’s display

Aaron Ramsey was a satisfied man after we claimed our first away win of the Premier League season - especially so as we came back from an early goal.

The Wales international was playing behind an attacking trio of Mesut Ozil, Alexis and Alex Lacazette for the first time - so how did he rate their understanding?

This is what he said:

on the performance…

We needed that, like you said it was our first away win of the season, we scored a few goals as well. Even though they’re not on the best run at the moment, it was always going to be quite a dangerous game because they needed a performance as well. It was important for us to match them from the beginning and we did that - full credit to the guys, we deserved that in the end.

on Lacazette, Ozil and Alexis all starting…

I think that with all the players we have in this squad we’re more than capable of producing performances. With these guys they score goals, they create goals as well, so it was nice to have them back in the team and hopefully they can continue creating and scoring goals.

on our belief to come back…

Of course, it was early on in the game [that we conceded]. Wayne Rooney is a quality player and he’s been scoring those types of goals over the years, and it was just how we responded from that and we did well to get back into the game and we went on to win it comfortably.

on us pushing up the league…

We need to make the Emirates a fortress, we’ve won every game there so far this season, so hopefully we can continue that and pick up more away wins as well and I’m sure we will go right to the end.
