Ramsdale's Spurs stop up for PL Save of the Month

Aaron Ramsdale during the game against Tottenham Hotspur

Aaron Ramsdale's excellent save to deny Tottenham's Ryan Sessegnon has been included on the Premier League's shortlist for January's Save of the Month.

It is our shot-stopper's first nomination this season, who produced a man of the match display in the north London derby to help us on our way to victory and another clean sheet.

His string of saves throughout the contest was impressive, but one in particular stood out which came in the 51st minute with Spurs desperate to get back into the game after falling two goals behind.

Sessegnon cut inside from his left flank at speed and played a one-two with Harry Kane, which saw him find space, six yards from goal. He took the shot first-time, but Aaron was alert to the situation, spread himself and managed to stick his left boot out just enough to divert the shot away for a corner.

That went a long way to Ramsdale claiming a ninth clean sheet of the campaign so far, and learning him a nomination for January's divisional award.

He is up against former Gunners Lukasz Fabianski and Emiliano Martinez of West Ham United and Aston Villa respectively, as well as Chelsea custodian Kepa Arriazabalaga, David de Gea of Manchester United and Newcastle United's Nick Pope who all made top stops to deny Crystal Palace players during the month.

You can vote for Aaron now, with supporters' votes contributing to the views of a panel of experts to determine the winner.
