Kieran Tierney is taking nothing for granted ahead of the visit of Southampton on Saturday.
The Saints lost 9-0 to Leicester City earlier this season in what is now the Premier League's record home defeat.
But our Scottish international discussed his own experiences with bouncing back from heavy defeats – and how togetherness can be the key to overcoming adversity.
"When I was at Celtic we had defeats in Europe that were quite big," Tierney told the official matchday programme. "We lost 7-1 or 7-0, stuff like that. That does dent your confidence, of course. But I think that's when your team spirit and your togetherness is needed the most.
"I think if your team has got good spirit and has got good togetherness then you can bounce back, of course you can. The good thing about football is there's always a chance to bounce back and your next game is never too far away.
"It takes a lot of togetherness to get through those tough times. They have the capability for that. Southampton are a good team. One result doesn't define your season as such, so we know that we will still be in for a tough game.
"You don't get easy games. But we've been looking forward to it. We've worked hard in training this week and we've prepared well for this game."
