Odegaard – ‘we controlled the game’

Odegaard interview after Chelsea win

Martin Odegaard said he was delighted with all areas of our game after playing his part in a crucial 1-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday.

The captain said the side approached the game in exactly the right way away to a top six rival, and we deserved to take all three points.

“I think it was a big win,” he told Arsenal Media after the game. “I think we deserved the win and we controlled the game.

“We were the more dominant team throughout the whole game, and we got the goal in the end. The way we protected the box, and the goal after that, and also the smartness we have on the ball to keep it in difficult situations.

“This is the way we want to play, you know? Also away from home, to be able to control these games and be the more dominant team.”

The win was our third in a row at Stamford Bridge in the league, the first time we have done that since 1974.

“Yeah I’ve played here three times and I’ve won all of them,” Odegaard added. “So, we have to keep going this way of course. Yeah but, again a big performance and I’m very proud of the team, and everyone.”
