Martin Odegaard will make his 100th appearance for us tonight, becoming the 234th player in our history to reach the landmark.
His debut also came against a Manchester club – United – at the Emirates on January 30, 2021, just a few days after he arrived on loan from Real Madrid. He was a late substitute in a game that finished 0-0 in the Premier League.
He made 20 appearances during his loan spell, and signed permanently that summer.
Last season he played 40 times in all competitions, and tonight makes his 40th appearance of this campaign. He has scored 21 goals and assisted 14 during his first 99 games, 81 of which have been in the Premier League, compared to 13 in the Europa League, three in the Carabao Cup and two in the FA Cup. He has started 83 of his 99 matches.
Still only 24 years old, Martin is one of nine players in the current first-team squad to reach a century of games for the club. He has played more times for Arsenal than any of his previous five clubs.
Which matches does Martin see as his biggest in red and white? He picked out his eight key games and why they were so important.
