On October 26, 2023, No More Red charity partner Abianda ran an incredible workshop on working with women and girls affected by gangs and county lines.
Abianda is a social enterprise that works with young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and violence and provides training for the professionals who work with them. This training session was available to all No More Red charity partners and members of the Arsenal in the Community department, and is a key part of our important work with young women in the local area.
As with all Abianda training, the session was informed by their expertise in the area, and young women who have worked with the organisation contributed their own lived experiences to the workshop material. During the session, the group worked through case studies and discussed and reflected on their responses and ideas around working with the young women, carefully guided by the charity’s professionals.
It proved to be an important session that gave all who attended lots to consider and implement in their work. As a result of this workshop, 80 per cent of attendees said they would change how they work with young women.
