Arsene Wenger believes games between English and German teams in the Champions League are usually open.
Arsenal take on last year's runners-up Borussia Dortmund at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday as they look to take a big step towards qualification from Group F.
And the Frenchman described players from Germany as having a "100 per cent" professional attitude.
"We want to come out of the game and feel that we have played at our best. If we do we will be difficult to handle for everybody"
"For me, the most common thing about German players is their attitude," said Wenger. "They have a reputation of being 100 per cent professional.
"What they give you, the German teams, is they have a desire to play. They play with a positive attitude and they have produced as well many good players recently.
"It makes it always an open game because they don't hide. We don't hide, so it should be an exciting game on Tuesday."
Mesut Ozil, Tomas Rosicky and Per Mertesacker have all played in Germany during their careers but Wenger is unsure whether their experience of the Bundesliga will help his side on Tuesday.
"It's difficult to weigh up how much that could help us," he said. "What is important is that we go into the game and focus on our quality and on our performance. For me that is more important than focusing on Dortmund.
"We want to come out of the game and feel that we have played at our best. If we do we will be difficult to handle for everybody."
