Per Mertesacker will captain Arsenal when they kick off their Emirates Cup campaign against Napoli.
The German defender takes the armband in the absence of Thomas Vermaelen and Mikel Arteta. The Belgian centre back is injured while Arteta is on the bench for Saturday's game.
Arsene Wenger has made five changes to the side that started Arsenal's last pre-season game against Urawa Reds in Saitama last Friday.
Like Arteta, Bacary Sagna, Ignasi Miquel, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott drop to the bench. Lukas Podolski, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson, Tomas Rosicky and Aaron Ramsey come into the side.
Santi Cazorla and Yaya Sanogo will not be involved against Napoli.
