Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has challenged himself to add more goals to his game after opening his account for the season on Sunday.

The Englishman marked his first league start since the opening day of the season with a brace to secure Arsenal a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium.

"It's always an amazing feeling to score a goal, especially at a superb stadium like the Emirates"

Arsene Wenger opted to play Oxlade-Chamberlain in central midfield against the Eagles and the 20-year-old was delighted to get another chance in that position.

"To play in midfield was nice," he said. "It's nice the boss has faith in me there. It's nice playing in midfield with players like we have, when we have got a lot of the ball.

"It's always an amazing feeling to score a goal, especially at a superb stadium like the Emirates. I'm glad to give something back to the fans. It's something that I want to add to my game more so it was nice to get two today.

"It was a tough game against Palace, they made it hard for us in the first half. But in the second half we knew that if we kept the tempo up and kept wearing them down that maybe we could get more opportunities. and thankfully we did."
