Bury 3-2 Crewe

Chuks Aneke's fifth-minute opener could not prevent Crewe from being knocked out of the League Cup by League Two side Bury. The midfielder, making his first start for the Railwaymen since returning to the club on loan, gave the visitors the lead with a smart finish early on but Bury hit back with two goals before the break and another one just after the restart. Harry Davis reduced the deficit late on but the hosts held out to progress to the second round. Aneke was substituted after 89 minutes.
