Kerr - Our experience can be crucial

Shelley Kerr says Arsenal Ladies' European experience could be crucial when they take on Italian side ASD Torres in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Meadow Park on Wednesday.

The Ladies go into the tie aiming to advance to the last four of the tournament for the third successive year.

"We will have attention to detail on our opponents, as we always will, but I think we have to focus on what we've got at Arsenal"

Torres, who have won the Women's Serie A for the last three years, will be difficult opponents but Kerr is hoping that her team's knowhow can make the difference.

"We've had them watched and we've done some analysis on them," she told Arsenal Player. "We've seen them over two or three games and we know that they've been in the Champions League over the past couple of seasons.

"When it comes to this stage of the competition, you know you're going to get good opponents. That's standard when it comes to the quarter-final stage.

"We have had them looked at and we want to concentrate on ourselves as well. We will have attention to detail on our opponents, as we always will, but I think we have to focus on what we've got at Arsenal.

"As a player and as a team, you want to win things but when it comes to the Champions League, there's that added pressure. I think that's the key area. The more experienced you are at playing under pressure, the better it becomes."
