Jenkinson - Our attitude must be right

Carl Jenkinson thinks Arsenal must approach the upcoming week with the right attitude as they look to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League and qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Gunners take on high-flying Everton on Sunday before facing difficult away trips to Napoli and Manchester City.

"If we play how we have been playing I'm sure we'll be fine but of course things can change quickly in football"

Jenkinson impressed in just his fifth league start of the season against Hull City and says he wants to be part of the ever-improving back four.

"It's always nice stepping into a defence who have been playing how they have been," Jenkinson told Arsenal Player.

"Of course it's great to be a part of that especially because we're top of the league and we're flying at the moment so I want to grab every opportunity I can with both hands.

"If we play how we have been playing I'm sure we'll be fine but of course things can change quickly in football and it's very important that we go into these games with the right attitude to continue this run that we're on."

Jenkinson provided the cross for Nicklas Bendtner to head Arsenal's opening goal against Hull and the full-back was delighted to see his team-mate get on the scoresheet.

"I'm really pleased for him," Jenkinson said. "He's looked sharp in training and I think he really stepped up to the mark [against Hull] and the boys were saying how well he's done.

"Obviously that's fantastic for us because we know when he puts his mind to it he's top drawer."
