During my journey home is not always when I pen my thoughts but now seems as good a time as any, especially with a busy couple of days ahead suggesting I might not find any other time between now and our next match.
And although we all longed for a win I certainly feel a lot better than I did fighting my way through the elements on the way back from Liverpool on Saturday!
When you have been going to see games for a long time, you realise that every now and then you get days like our trip to Anfield. That doesn't make it any easier to take though, because our performance and more importantly the result was hugely disappointing.
For that reason alone Wednesday night's game couldn't come quick enough, a great chance to bounce back and get our league season moving forward again.
Not a win on the night but keeping a clean sheet once again is a positive and it is something to build on before Sunderland come to north London on Saturday week.
Against United we worked incredibly hard and if anything we were a little bit 'careful' at times, probably a natural reaction to Saturday.
A winner in the closing stages would have been a huge tonic but despite coming close it didn't materialise. Chezz also made a fine save with pretty much the only clear-cut chance our visitors created all night - so it could also have been desperately disappointing.
We'll stick together, take a point and look forward to Sunday's FA Cup tie.
Come on you mighty reds!
