Diaby - Let’s keep showing character

Abou Diaby wants Arsenal to take the character shown in last weekend’s win against Sunderland into the remainder of the season.

Arsene Wenger’s side triumphed at the Stadium of Light despite playing the majority of the second half with only 10 men after Carl Jenkinson was sent off.

Now Diaby is urging the team to take the right blend of spirit and attacking flair into every game.

“We were very pleased because I think this game [at Sunderland] was a mixture of technicality, good passing and character,” he told Arsenal Player. “We showed that when you join those elements in the game, it makes a big difference.

“It’s really important to show our character to our opponents. As soon as they know that they will play against us, they know that we play well but we also have character, which is really important.

“We were all happy because we really fought to win this game and to keep the score. I think we could have scored as well to kill the game. That will be even better. We won at the end, so we’re really happy and we need to keep this strength.”
