Santi Cazorla believes the subtle differences between the Club’s collection of attacking midfielders is a major strength this season.
Aresene Wenger’s squad contains a number of players who, along with the Spaniard, enjoy the ‘No 10’ role behind the central striker.
"Each player is different and the good thing is we all complement each other. We’re all comfortable playing with each other"
While only one can play there in each game, Cazorla insists that the fluid nature of the team’s attack makes it an enjoyable experience.
“Ultimately it’s easy to connect with guys like Wilshere, Rosicky, Mesut and all the players who play in the centre of the park,” he told Arsenal Player.
“Plus I think that our style of play is ideal for me, Rosicky and Mesut as we’re players who enjoy linking up in tight spaces. From there, the results take care of themselves as we are enjoying ourselves.
“We’re all different [though]. For example, Jack is a very strong player who grabs the team by the scruff of the neck, which is impressive for a player of his age. Then you have Rosicky, who is a direct player who likes to change the speed of the game. He likes quick moves and breaking down the defence with a forward run.
“On the other hand you have Mesut and I, and we are quite similar in certain areas of our games but he has a different philosophy to me. He enjoys the freedom of being the main, central attacking midfielder that sits behind the forwards, whereas I enjoy the freedom that playing wider gives me to cut inside.
“Each player is different and the good thing is we all complement each other. We’re all comfortable playing with each other.”
"In the last few games I’ve been getting better physically and my confidence has been growing"
Cazorla scored twice on Saturday as Arsenal beat Fulham to stay top of the table, and he feels he is returning to the peak of his powers.
“I’m doing well at the moment,” he said. “In the last few games I’ve been getting better physically and my confidence has been growing. I hope this continues from now until the end of the season.
“I had a bit of a bad time with my ankle problems and missed a few games but I hope to put that behind me and get back to my best in order to help the team to achieve as much as possible.”
