It’s been five months and Shkodran Mustafi is still unbeaten in an Arsenal shirt.
The defender has played 22 times, he’s struck up a promising central-defensive partnership with Laurent Koscielny and has endeared himself to the fans with a string of composed performances.

So what’s the secret to his unbeaten run?
“I knew that I was coming to a big club and that it’s not a club who goes into games trying not to lose, it’s a club who goes into each game trying to win,” Mustafi said.
“I knew that we were going to be a strong side, but obviously everything is possible when you go into the game, even when you are 90 per cent in their half.
“Even when you’re making the game and playing well but not scoring, in modern football everyone knows how to defend and you can sometimes get caught if you’re not concentrating for 90 minutes.
“Other teams can score. I knew that it was going to be difficult, but the team that we have is all about everyone giving everything for each other and I think that’s what makes us strong.”
