'You can see the confidence we have'

Last week wasn't a bad one for Chris Willock.

The 18-year-old made his competitive debut at the Emirates Stadium as Arsene Wenger's side won 2-0 against Reading in the EFL Cup, before scoring the final goal as the Under-23s recorded a 4-0 win over Sunderland at Meadow Park.

Here's what he had to say to Arsenal Player post-match:

on the match...
I thought we played well. We took our chances and I was really happy with the performance from the lads. It shows that we have confidence and hopefully we can carry on with this in the next game.

on pressing the opposition quickly...
Steve [Gatting] is always trying to get us pressing high and we’ve been practising that in training and it paid off.

on it being a memorable week for him...
I was really happy to come on the other night - to play my first game at the Emirates [in the EFL Cup against Reading] with the first team, I was over the moon.

on the team needing to be more consistent...
We have to keep this form going and hopefully we can carry it on, keep scoring goals and beating teams.

on his goal...
The ball came out and it fell to KayKay and I was at the back of the backline. Luckily it came to me and I took my touch forward and thought, ‘let's have a go here' and it went in so I was pleased with that.
